A Place to post your requests and questions.

Hello all,

We have placed this up so that our customers can easily tell us what we are doing right, and what we are doing wrong.  We would also like to have input as to what you would like to see done differently or a feature request.  Because our support team will be monitoring new posts, feel free to post general support requests as well.

We hope you choose to use this tool in order to communicate your ideas.

Thank you,

Brian F.

    Good job establishing a forum!

Usermail has been generally reliable however lags way behind other providers in regard to webmail features.

I work on several different computers therefore the webmail client is very important to me.

Message Filtering, Fowarding, HTML message composition, POP fetch outside accounts, Option to remove your tagline (unsuited for a paid account) come to mind right away.

My account expires in a couple of months & I’ll see what improvements have been made at that time.

  2. qqqq Says:

    Thank you for your feedback.

At the top right, you should see “My account”. From here, you can do message filtering. Let me see what else I can do.

Tremendous job adding the Nutsmail client so quickly!!

    Thanks…………………..

    Thank you,

I really like the layout. My hope is that everybody agrees.

Great new look! I’ve been w/you for quite a while now and have not been dissappointed. Are you able to add back in the time/date that the e-mail was last checked? Usually I leave my window up and sometimes it helps to understand when I last checked my e-mail. Also, I liked the quick weather report you could add to the side of the window with a zip code, is that possible to put back in?

Thanks for all the hard work!

    dellsworth,

Let me see what I can do.

I always worry when there is a push to add features; often the new features break backwards & cross-platform compatibility. I seldom use Windows and never IE, so this matters very much to me. This nutsmail skin, though, seems to strike a happy medium. I’ll test it with a text-mode brower tonight; this is also important to me since a text-mode ssh tunnel is the only safe way to send mail when I am in China (now that https is no longer up).

My only complaint so far is that plain-text composition and display is not in a monospace font. Typewritten tables don’t line up correctly, to take a (conceptual) example from just this morning:

    18 Mar (Sat) | Depart 6:00p JFK | Arrive 10:30a XYZ
    ————-+——————-+——————-
    11 Apr (Tue) | Depart 2:00p XYZ | Arrive 4:30p JFK

And things like the indentations in source code are utterly munged by variable-width fonts.

I am glad the tagline is gone. It overruns the 160-character limit on email-to-SMS gateways (vtext.com, messages.mycingular.com, etc.)

    Mrad,

I didn’t realize SSL was down. I’ll have somebody look at it.

I like the new visual display and setup of the main screen-but would like an option to display the ‘unsafe images’ to be available on the toolbar at the top of the email message. There’s no point in making it hard to find.

  10. insearch Says:

I love my usermail account! My only issue is with the images in e-mail. I hate the “image removed for security reasons” tag line!!!!! I have tried the setting that implies always see images but I still get the tag line. At the very least can you put the view “unsafe” images at the top of the email box near view message details so I don’t have to scroll down to the bottom of every e-mail to see it? What’s the point of getting HTML e-mails if I can’t see the pics?

  11. mf1941 Says:

Thanks Brian, for all your recent upgrades!

I do miss that Weather feature also, If it can be restored & maybe shrink the blog link that would be appreciated.

Another suggestions would be add the File Storage feature & have the ability to use a % of my storage quota for that.

  12. dcjuli Says:

    Hi,

Thanks for the new webmail client. It looks much nicer, but I must say it is significantly slower than they old interface. This is mostly due to the graphics on the page, the images load very slowly.

On another note, the mail server has been down a lot this week. I have to relogin every couple of hours or so. What is going on with the server? Are you doing any work on it?

    Thanks!
    Julia

  13. qqqq Says:

I agree that the images do slow the site down. We are working to either beef up the servers or host the images via TUX.

Besides last night, we have not had any outages. Is anybody else having problems having to relogin?

    Brian

  14. jdtaylor Says:

Hi, HTML Message composition in webmail would be a good idea, paypal for payment and an account managed to manage account in more detail via a link from webmail would be a good diea.

  15. jdtaylor Says:

Hi, Also adding the .csv import function for contacts in webmail would be a good diea

  16. kburden000 Says:

Do a “Cookie Set Test” after failing login before ERROR reply
on attempts on the webmail site. To tell users to enable cookies.

I usually use my POP3 client to get my mail, it saves my passwd.
I went to the webmail client and tried to login but failed with
only the notification of an “ERROR”.

I thought I’d forgotten my password. But I hadn’t, cookies
were disabled in my browser. Yes I should have known a
site like this would probably use cookies.

But a warning to tell me to turn cookies on would have been handy.

You people are such code mavens it shouldn’t take long to add
a cookie set test to login failures, Right?!?

  17. ask Says:

I know we’re supposed to have a soft limit of 250MB. Is there somewhere on the webmail interface that shows what my current usage is? If yes, pls point me to it. If no, can this feature pls be added?

  18. mgama Says:

I’ve filled out the support form twice in the past month (most recently yesterday) and have never received a response from either one. What’s going on here? Is anyone monitoring that support avenue, or is this blog the only way to communicate to you now?

  19. qqqq Says:

    Mgama,

This issue has been addressed on our end and it shouldn’t happen again. You have my personal email address so you can contact me directly if you experience any other issues.

    Brian F.

  20. qqqq Says:

    Ask,

This is on the slate and we are looking at making your unused space available for online storage.

    Brian F.

  21. qqqq Says:

    mf1941,

Unfortunately this client does not compliment the weather plug-in. The link to the old interface is still available however here: http://webmail.usermail.com/squirrelmail-1.4.6/src/login.php

  22. qqqq Says:

    Insearch,

I agree that the “image removed for security reasons” tag line is a pain. I will look for a way to override it.

    Brian F.

  23. mf1941 Says:

There is no “Weather” option on the Squirrelmail interface.
It has been replaced by the ad to visit this forum.

File storage would be a great option, So would aliases, Plug-ins that are available & that are offered by your competitors’ services.

I see file storage has already been mentioned & is on the ’slate”.
Is there a completion date for the slate?…

  24. qqqq Says:

    mf1941,

Unfortunately, the new interface does not allow for the weather option. We are working to figure out what additional plug-ins we can install.

    Brian F.

  25. mf1941 Says:

It has been a few months since other feature requests have been made.

Curious if any are close to implementation?

As a webmail user it would be nice to change the Nutsmail font size.
File Storage as discussed by other customers would be a plus.

Being able to whitelist addresses who sent HTML messages/images so they appear w/o images removed would be helpful.

Restoration of the weather pane on the old interface would also be appreciated. (You could shrink the link to the blog)

All of these features are available on other providers & don’t seem to be that far-fetched.

Otherwise the mail service itself is fine, Just kind of pedestrian..

    Thanks!
